In the spirit of discovery that makes life
so interesting, we offer a variety of programs throughout the year that are
an adventurous blend of fun and exploration.
Here’s a chance to dig deep into Lake County’s landscape and experience places and ideas in new ways. The leaders are what make our programs truly sparkle. Experts in their fields, they have stories, passions and insiders’ perspectives that will inform and surprise you.

  • People enjoy our trips to a variety of properties where we explore birds, geology, farming and other topics.
  • At our annual meeting each winter, guest speakers discuss issues related to Lake County, and summaries of our accomplishments and plans are presented.
  • During monthly nature restoration workdays, volunteers team up outdoors to tackle both projects and pizza.

  • We meet several times a year to discuss good books.

  • Through our ‘Food for Thought’ lunch series, we gather for good food, conversation and brief presentations.

For teachers, we offer our K-8 Sustainable Agriculture Curriculum, a comprehensive set of 44 on-line lesson plans about food production.
